Who we are

Portool is a vessel arrival alert service ("we", "us", "our"), based in England. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@portool.io.

What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account data — your email address and a hashed password when you register
Vessel data — vessel names, IMO numbers, MMSI numbers and target ports that you add to your account
Subscription data — your plan type and subscription status. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers
Session data — a session cookie to keep you logged in

How we use your data

To provide the vessel tracking and email alert service you signed up for
To send you vessel arrival alert emails to the address you registered with
To manage your subscription via Stripe
To maintain the security of your account

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third party except Stripe (for payment processing) and our AIS data provider (vesselapi), who receive only the technical vessel identifiers required to track positions.
